After practicing yoga at home for 2+ years, I have created a list of the best free yoga youtube channels. These 7 Yoga Youtube Channels are what I actually use myself and would personally recommend to a friend. There are even excellent options for absolute beginners!
With everyone spending more time at home and many gyms/studios still closed, I compiled the best free yoga youtube channels. With this list, you can practice yoga for free from the comfort of your home. I have practiced yoga at home for over 2 years now and these 7 Yoga Youtube Channels are what I consider to be the best. Even if you have zero experience with yoga, there is a free option available to you. I have the list organized by level and given descriptions of the class type offered by each instructor so it easy for you to find one that may be right for you.
Best Absolute Beginner – Beginner Yoga Youtube Channels
1.) Yoga with Adriene on Youtube.
Yoga with Adriene is one of the most popular and best free yoga youtube channels for good reasons. If you are an absolute beginner I recommend going to her Yoga for beginners playlist and going through each video in order. She will break down each pose, transition, and the breath to build your foundation. Adriene is a great resource for yogis of all levels and I still turn to her channel when I am craving a very specific practice like yoga for digestion or yoga for at your desk. Many of her classes are designed for “occasions” so there is something for every mood or situation you may be in, for example, yoga for when you have eaten to much or gentle morning yoga flow.
Bonus: For any parents who have their children at home right now, she has even designed yoga P.E. for your kiddos to enjoy.
2.) Alo Yoga’s How To Play List
Alo Yoga has an incredibly helpful how to playlist on their youtube channel that goes though many individual postures and break them down to their smallest details. It is important to set a strong foundation of every single yoga pose to not set bad habits, avoid injuries, ensure you are getting the most out of your practice. This is a very well put together resource for learning the fundamental pose in in yoga.
Yoga by Candace is a great free resource for all levels of yogi, however, her How To Do Specific Yoga Postures is especially beneficial for beginners to ensure they are practicing with correct for. The playlist covers every essential pose and prepares you to begin your yoga journey with confidence.
Intermediate-Advanced Yoga Youtube Channels
Alo Yoga has a wonderful collection of free yoga classes on their youtube channel. I recommend going through them to see if any of the other instructors resonate with you. My favorite instructor is Briohny Smith. She creates incredible flows that are not too difficult but still get you stretched, energized, and fully connected to your breath. I have completed both of her 30-min power vinyasa flows many times. Each time they challenge me and leaves me satisfied. Her flows are perfect for someone looking for an energizing yoga flow. She designs classes to prepare students for advanced postures such as handstands and inversions.
2.) Yoga By Kassandra’s Vinyasa Flows
Yoga by Kannandra’s youtube channel covers all levels but her vinyasa flow playlist is a great place for intermediate yogis to get their daily dose of vinyasa. A big focus of her channel is morning yoga, so if you are looking for practices designed for right when you wake up and to energize you for your day, Kassandra is a great option. I particularly enjoy her 10 min full-body stretch videos. They challenge my flexibility and get me out of my comfort zone.
Best Free Advanced Online Yoga
I love Tim’s yoga content and his energy! He is great for the advanced yogi because his flows are powerful, quick, and designed to get your heart rate up. He incorporates advanced poses and inversion so you will need a proper yoga foundation along with core strength to complete. Tim’s flows exercise the whole body so you are getting a full work out along with a yoga practice! Win, Win! I guarantee you will be sweating after one of his Total Body Burn flows, regardless of how cold you keep your home!
2.) 60 Minute Advanced Yoga Flow with Nicole Wild
I really enjoyed this advanced flow by Nicole Wild. I refer back to it when I feel my mind racing and need a challenge to return back to self. The challenge gets me out of my head, makes me focus on my body, and fuse my mind-body connection. I love the creative transitions, different variations, focus on strength building, and the fact that she leads Shavasana at the end. You will end the class stronger, sweaty, refreshed, and very well stretched. Any of Nicole Wild’s flow will satisfy the advanced yogi’s need for an intense and sweaty yoga sesh.
