Having a wellness-centered lifestyle does not have to be as expensive as social media makes it seem. Here are 5 of the best FREE resources for healthy living.
So many people are under the impression that living a wellness-centered lifestyle has to be extremely expensive. I know that social media can make it seem like those who prioritize wellness and healthy living are all very wealthy, and constantly promoting new products that are “life-changing”. I hope that this blog post opens your eyes to all of the completely FREE resources for healthy living there are for you to take advantage of.
Living a healthy lifestyle is more about the tiny choices we make on a daily basis, rather than going out and purchasing expensive supplements and gym memberships. Not to say that there is a problem with investing in health, my point is that there are options. In my case, I have noticed that in the years that I have switched to a healthier lifestyle, I have saved more money than ever!
I am saving money because so much of my wellness routine costs $0 and motivates me to stay away from poor lifestyle choices (that add up over time, financially). When preparing this blog post, it really opened my eyes to how many of the resources that help me live a healthy lifestyle are completely free.
Lets get into the list!

The Best FREE Resources For Healthy Living & Wellness
1.) A Public Library Card
Reading is such a huge part of my wellness routine! When I discovered my love for self-help and psychology books was a huge turning point in my life. I have learned everything from anxiety maintenance, nutritional science, Ayurveda, women’s health, and so much more just from reading.
Unless you have unlimited funds for books budgeted out, I would suggest you obtain a library card and put it to use. I have used my local library for over five years now. I read on average 3-4 books a month, which means I have saved at least over $2,500 by using my public library.
By having a public library card you have access to 1,000’s of free learning resources at your fingertips. If your library does not have the book you are searching for, look on the library website for a “suggestion for purchase” form. I am a proud public library supporter and look forward to my weekly trip to pick up my held items.
I share wellness and healthy living book recommendations all the time! You can find some of my favorite reads on the Radiantly Nourished Shop. Additionally, I share a monthly reading list on Instagram so make sure to follow me there so you don’t miss it!
2.) The Radiantly Nourished Healthy Grocery Essentials Shopping List
If you have spent time on the Radiantly Nourished Blog, you may notice that many of the recipes I share center around the same main ingredients. That is because learning how to select nutrient-dense staple ingredients when you grocery shop, and then knowing how to cook them in easy, but creative ways is a skill I want to share with anyone in this community. I never want to overcomplicate things that can be so simple.
The purpose of this healthy grocery essentials list is to outline the basis of the ingredients that you need in your pantry to always have quick, easy, and clean meal options. With these staples at home in your pantry, you have endless options for easy meals or snacks to make. The shopping list comes with a 10+ recipe guide using all of the ingredients sent to your email inbox. That way, you have plenty of easy (and extremely healthy) recipes ideas to make use of your new grocery staples.
3.) Yoga & Pilates Youtube Channels
Gym, yoga, and pilates memberships can get pricey! If you aren’t ready to invest in that way yet, I have you covered. There are so many ways to exercise for free with the power of youtube! My personal favorite at-home workouts are yoga and pilates.
After practicing yoga at home (for free!) for 2+ years, I have created a list of the best free yoga youtube channels. These 7 Yoga Youtube Channels are what I actually use myself and would personally recommend to a friend. There are even excellent options for absolute beginners! You can see the full list of Free Yoga Youtube Channels Here!
I have also fallen in love with a few Pilates Instructors On Youtube! My two favorites are Move With Nicole and Blogilates. Both have options for all levels and a huge selection of classes ranging from 10 minutes to 1 hour for you to choose from. I absolutely love Nicole’s soothing vibe and teaching style. I reach for Blogilates when I need something high energy with mood-boosting pop music.
4.) Podcasts
Podcasts are a new obsession of mine that has quickly become an integral part of my wellness routine. The best part? They are free and functional! What I mean by functional is that they are perfect for a busy lifestyle or multi-tasking.
My new favorite ritual is to listen to a podcast while I do my hair and makeup for the day. This sets the best tone for the day ahead and I seriously cannot imagine starting my day any other way! I cannot believe it took this long for podcasts to become a part of my life.
There are podcasts on every topic imaginable. But since we are focusing on free rescources for healthy living, here a few of my favorites that focus on wellness.
- The Mind Body Green Podcast
- The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast
- The Doctors Farmacy With Mark Hyman
- That’s So Retrograde
- The Feel Good Podcast With Kimberly Snyder
These are just a few of my favorites! To listen, type any of these into apple podcasts (or any other streaming service you use) and start learning! It will be a bit of trial and error until you find one you love, but once you do I promise you will be hooked!
5.) The Best Free Apps For Wellness & Healthy Living
There are a few apps I use every single day that pertain to healthy living and provide so much value! These apps are completley free on the app store and I know you will love using them just as much as I do!
- The Think Dirty App – The Think Dirty App helps you to find cleaner skincare and beauty products. This app has millions are beauty products organized so that all you have to do is open up the app, scan your product’s bar code, and then you can see if the product is clean or not. It gives a drop-down menu for every single item in a product’s ingredients list so you can de-code all of the giant words on the label and determine if that product is safe to use.
- ShopWell – The Shop Well App is a similar concept to the Think Dirty App, except its focus is to help you quickly understand food labels and make healthier purchasing decisions while you grocery shop! I love this app and always have it pulled up as I navigate the grocery store!
- Flo Period Tracker & Calendar – This is the tracker I personally to track my period and ovulation. I love this app because it is easy to use, designed so cute, and has so many features that educate on women’s health!
- Breathwrk – Breathwrk is a free guided breathwork app with different sessions for every occasion. I love the recharge breathwork series for combatting mid-day slump. This is a great app for any beginner interested in breathwork!
That concludes my list. I hope this list opened your eyes to all of the completely FREE resources for healthy living there are for you to take advantage of. Please let me know your thoughts and questions in the comments. I always respond and look forward to chatting with you!
