Persian Chicken Kotlet (Kotlet Morgh) or Persian Meat Patties

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Package Ground Chicken
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/4 White Onion
  • 4 Cloves Garlic
  • 1/2 Cup Fresh Cilantro Stems removed and lightly chopped.
  • 1 TSP Salt Or To Taste.
  • 1/2 TSP Turmeric Powder Or To taste.
  • 1 TSP Dried Mint Or To taste.
  • 1 TSP Paprika Or To taste.
  • 1 TSP Pepper Or To taste.
  • 1/2 TSP Ground Coriander Or To taste.
  • 1 TSP Garlic Powder Or To taste.
  • Crushed Red Pepper Flakes Or To Taste (optional).
  • 1 1/2 TBSP Olive Oil
  • 1/2 Lemon The juice of half a lemon.

Instructions
 

  • In a food processor combine the onion and garlic cloves. Process until smooth.
  • Remove this onion and garlic mixture from the food processor. Using a strainer or cheese cloth, press out as much liquid from this mixture as possible. Discard the liquid and add the processed onion and garlic to your large mixing bowl.
  • In a large mixing bowl combine all of the remaining ingredients.
  • Combine this mixture well and then begin to form patties.
  • In a large frying pan bring 1 TBSP olive oil to medium-high heat.
  • Cook the patties for approx. 5-6 minutes on each side (or until chicken is fully cooked and the outside is golden brown).
  • Serve & Enjoy!
